Does my insurance cover cosmetic dentistry?
Does my dental insurance (Metlife, Cigna, Guardian, Delta Dental, etc) cover cosmetic dentistry?
That is a question we hear very often.
The answer might surprise you.
Even though most dental insurance plans say cosmetic dentistry is not covered, oftentimes there are significant functional benefits to the treatments.
About Our Practice.
Dr. Steven Polevoy is one of the premier cosmetic dentists in Harrison and the entire Westchester County. He has been involved in cosmetic dentistry since 1990’s. When you visit our Harrison dental practice, you will see what makes us different. From the warm welcome you’ll receive on arrival, to the gentle touch dental care we’re famous for – you’ll know you’re in the right place.
The most common cosmetic dentistry procedures we do are bondings, porcelain crowns, cosmetic orthodontics like Invisalign, and porcelain dental veneers,
Bondings are tooth colored fillings. Very often they are done toreplace existing white fillings that have discolored over the years. As there are many functional benefits to replacing an old and leaking filling, many Westchester dental insurance plans cover these procedures up to 80%.
Porcelain crowns have no metal and do not produce the black lines at the edges you may have noticed on other people. Because they are a routine replacement for old crowns, they are often covered at up to 50%
Whether your insurance covers Invisalign just depends on your plan. Some dental insurances in Westchester cover orthodontics for children only, while others cover adults as well. If your plan covers adults, it may pay up to 50% for Invisalign.
Porcelain veneers are usually not covered by dental insurance unless we are replacing large existing fillings or removing decay. However, we do offer many different payment plans to help fit this treatment into your budget.
